Volunteer Roles

We rely on volunteers to help run the rescue whether it is here at the shelter - cleaning, dog grooming, dog walking and cuddles. This will suit anyone with a love for animals and some spare time. Volunteering here at our shelter is also a great way to meet some new friends in the community and become part of our friendly and inclusive team.

Dog Care :

• Cleaning their areas

• Grooming

• Cuddles

• Playtime

• Walking

Dog Walking :

• Take our dogs for walks in the surrounding hills

• (Optional) Play with the dogs at the shelter and some light grooming

Pre-Loved Store :

• Customer service (Includes cash handling)

• Stock replenishment

• Sorting through new donations and getting them presentable to go on sale in our store

Driver :

• Helping with dog transport locally (Vet runs, Beach for walks etc)

• Collecting and moving stock for the vintage store

• Odd jobs

Portuguese speakers :

• Helping to contact suppliers and potential donators in Portugal

• Translating important information

Alfarroba (Carob) Harvesting (Seasonal) :

• Collecting carobs from land around the Algarve with our team.

• Knocking carobs from trees, Collecting and bagging from the ground.

• Also always in need of van or big car to transport carobs.

Crafters :

• If you are into arts and crafts we are always looking for people to volunteer to make arts and crafts and handmade gifts for us to sell at our markets and events to raise money for our shelter

Markets and events :

• Selling handmade crafts and gifts at local markets and events

• Helping out at our events, arrangements etc

• Selling raffle tickets for at events
